We are excited to welcome the Woof and Wanderers Caravan Club to Wyalkatchem Travellers Park as they settled in for some local exploring and well-deserved downtime.
The first night offered a chance to settle in and enjoy the park’s tranquil and peaceful surroundings.
The next morning, refreshed after a quiet night, the group and their dogs set off on their Famous dog walk.”
The group was pleased to discover that the Recreation Centre was right next door to the park and is a wonderful spot for walking and playing with the dogs
Following a relaxing morning tea, the group headed to Korrelocking Reserve for sightseeing and hunting for the elusive wildflowers.”
The group enjoyed a unique evening visit from Dingo Dave and his dingo, Georgie. The highlight of the night was when Georgie shared a kiss with one very lucky guest.
To wrap up the night, everyone gathered around the crackling fire for a BBQ and a round of drinks under the stars.
The group rose early for another round of the club’s Famous dog walk. Returning to the Recreation Centre, the four-legged guests delighted in the fabulous, clean space, perfect for walking, running and playing in the fresh air.
After such rigorous play, everyone and their fur companions headed to Wyalkatchem’s famous Devonshire teas. The volunteers even set up a special table to ensure both dogs and owners were perfectly comfortable.
Once both the owners and their ‘fur guests’ had finished their scones and tea, the group set off to walk off the extra calories. They enjoyed a stroll through the Wyalkatchem town site, it was the perfect chance to explore the towns history. There was time to also visit the CBH Museum, the local Op Shop, and the Old School House Museum.
The group spent another wonderful night around the campfire, roasting beef over the open flames and enjoying a few drinks. Laughter filled the air as jokes and funny stories flew in every direction, it seemed even the ‘fur guests’ had a few tales to tell!
The following morning, the group headed back to the Rec Centre to enjoy one last ‘Famous Dog Walk’ before their departure.
After enjoying some club activities, the group headed over to the Wyalkatchem Hotel for a relaxing lunch.
The Wyalkatchem Hotel truly went above and beyond once more. A dedicated space was reserved for the group, allowing members and their four-legged friends to enjoy lunch in comfort.
The meals were served promptly, arriving hot and absolutely delicious. Between the impeccable service, the great food, and the lively atmosphere, it was a fantastic afternoon of fun and friendship.”
After a substantial lunch, the group opted for a lighter evening meal. Foil-wrapped potatoes were nestled into the glowing embers of the fire to roast, while the ladies prepared a variety of fresh fillings to accompany them.
Once the meal concluded, the group enjoyed a few nightcaps before retiring to bed.
The following morning, after a final gathering and fond farewells, the Woof & Wanderers set off on their next adventure.
