Once again, Wyalkatchem Travellers Park provided a Christmas lunch for those with nowhere else to go.
This year, because of the hot and humid weather, the lunch was held at the Wyalkatchem Men’s Shed.
The air conditioning created a wonderfully cool and comfortable atmosphere.
Guests started to arrive around 11am, including a mix of locals, caravan park guests and visitors from out of town.

As usual, the table was laden with a traditional Christmas feast. This year’s meats included ham, turkey, roast beef, chicken, and roast pork with crackling.

Side dishes included roast potatoes, pumpkin, Roman peas, honey-glazed carrots, pasta salad, potato salad, green salad, and beetroot salad.
There was a delay before the desserts were served, as guests needed time to make room and loosen their belts.

Once again, the desserts were wonderfully delicious, featuring traditional pavlova, trifle, and plum pudding, along with homemade ice cream cake, marshmallow snowmen, pineapple jelly, chocolate fountain, mango jelly, mint slice, cheesecake, and, of course, Brendan’s famous fruit salad—a Christmas dessert staple.
After dessert, guests mingled and chatted until food comas set in, prompting everyone to head home for nana naps and poppy flops.
