Farewell to a great man

Hi Happy Travellers,

Some sad news, Brendan (The Bearded Wonder) Eaton has passed after a very short illness.

I decided to have an informal Memorial, held at the Travellers Park, to celebrate Brendan’s amazing life.

The guests began to arrive at the Kevin Jones Camp Kitchen only to be greeted by a photo board of Brendan’s life.  The board was just a small sample of this amazing man’s time on this earth.

To highlight all aspects of his life, I would have to put up so many photo boards that they would have surrounded the Travellers Park.

After viewing the photo board, the guests made their way to several tables groaning with nibbles of savoury discs, chips, dips and noodle nut mixtures.

Laughter and conversations soon filled the air as stories were being told/invented.

In the meantime there was a flurry of activity in the kitchen as pizzas were being cooked and sent out on trays to the hungry hordes.

At the same time, the BBQ was pumping out sausages which were soon devoured wrapped in bread and smothered in sauce.

Soon there was only the sound of people enjoying the food and company.

Just before the wonderful deserts were served (thank you to all who supplied scrumptious mouth-watering home-made goodies) there was a short thank you for attending speech followed by those who wished to pass on how they met Brendan and what stood out to them about him.

After desert was consumed it was time to have one last toast to Brendan with his favourite tipple, Chivas Regal scotch.

The evening ended with people leaving with smiles on their faces and happy thoughts of a truly special and amazing man.

I know our past guests will miss his cheeky smile, dad jokes, empathy and generosity.

To those guests yet to find our little piece of paradise, you will find samples of Brendan’s humour all around the park.

So, Happy Wanderers, come join me for a night or two and experience The Bearded Wonder’s special touches around the park.
