After being closed for several years, the Wyalkatchem Travellers Park officially reopened on 8 April 2022.

Brendan and I had never run a business before, so the first few months were quite daunting as we figured out what was required and got the Park up and running again.

The day before our official opening, several guests arrived wanting to be the very first to experience the refurbished Wyalkatchem Travellers Park.

To celebrate our opening, the Wyalkatchem community was invited to inspect the refurbished facilities over a sausage sizzle. The event was a great success with 75 attendees, marking the official start of our regular Happy Hour tradition.

The Wyalkatchem community embraced Brendan and I with open arms, and generously helped us with whatever tasks they could manage.

We’ve been busy since reopening! Brendan and I have added more powered sites, laid blue metal throughout to keep the vans clean from mud and dust, and stocked the camp kitchen with extra cooking gear. We even started a vegetable and herb garden specifically for our guests to use.

Upon learning that a member of the Wyalkatchem community had generously
funded the camp kitchen, we hosted a celebration for the community and invited Mr. Kevin
Jones to unveil the ‘Kevin Jones Camp Kitchen’ in his honor.

The Wyalkatchem Travellers Park has gone from strength to strength. Thanks to our fantastic guests, we’ve received glowing reviews and have seen many familiar faces return—most of whom we now consider good friends.”

So, if you haven’t experienced our hospitality yet, consider dropping in for a night or two—or just stop by to check out our facilities and meet us
