Beer Can Regatta
Come view the S.S. Wyalkatchem, made by two of our local men from beer cans for the Beer can regatta in Darwin.
The S.S. Wyalkatchem will be on show for a short time on Saturday 3rd August 2024 from 11am to 2pm at the Wyalkatchem Recreation Centre. There is a sausage sizzle available for $5.00 all proceeds going to the Darwin Lions Club. For those who wish to stay over night, the Wyalkatchem Travellers Park is situated next door to the Recreation Centre.
Melbourne Cup Tour
The Melbourne Cup is racing its way to Wyalkatchem on 14th August 2024. Stay the night at the Wyalkatchem Travellers Park and enjoy the festivities. High tea will be served between 11am and 1pm in the Town Hall, cost is $15.00 a head. Then enjoy several cocktails at the Cocktail Party situated in the Town Hall, starting at 6.30pm. Cost $35.00 a head. Both functions require to be booked. Limited numbers, bookings at the Wyalkatchem Shire.
